Background
Lucas was called to the Bar in early 2019 after completing pupillage with Mr. Peter Duncan SC, Mr. Alan Ng, Mr. Osmond Lam and Mr. Walker Sham. He obtained his Master of Laws at Columbia University, Master of Laws in Corporate Law at University College London and Bachelor of Laws at University of Warwick.
Lucas’ civil practice focuses on commercial disputes and personal injuries. Bolstered with two Masters degrees in corporate law, he acts for financial institutions and insurance companies to handle contractual and shareholders disputes, and advises on corporate governance. He also advises on medical negligence litigation and appears at Coroner’s Court to inquire into the causes of death. He is an arbitrator and mediator accredited by MCIArb and HKMAAL respectively.
Lucas’ criminal practice involves commercial crime and organised crime. He acts for multinational corporations to defend against white-collar crimes, and advises on market misconduct and regulatory compliance. He has also prosecuted for the Department of Justice.
Lucas acted for notable clients, including The Hon. Alice Mak, SBS, BBS, JP, The Hon. Kwok Wai-keung, JP, The Hon. Leung Yiu-chung and Mr. Cheung Kim-hung (former CEO of Apply Daily).
Lucas is also passionate about community service. He is a Committee Member of HKSAR Government Tokwawan Area Committee advising on matters of public interest and public funds, and a School Manager of Hong Kong Catholic Diocesan Kindergartens supervising all the 17 Catholic kindergartens in Hong Kong.
