Background

Prior to joining the Bar, Joyce read law at the University of Reading with the IFP Scholarship and she obtained an LLM in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Laws at the University of Hong Kong. She obtained PCLL in 2017 at the University of Hong Kong and was called to the Bar in 2018. 

Joyce is developing a broad civil and criminal practice. In her first civil trial as a led junior, she appeared on behalf of two parties in the second enforcement action brought before the Competition Tribunal: Competition Commission v. W. Hing Construction Company Limited & Ors. [2019] HKCT 3. She has experience in matrimonial matters and also accepts instructions for advisory work.

In her criminal practice, Joyce is regularly instructed to conduct legal visits and appears for client in the Magistrates Court and District Court for bail applications, trials and mitigations. She has experience in a wide variety of offences involving dishonesty, dangerous drugs, immigration, public order, road traffic, sexual and violence.

Joyce is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and capable of providing written submissions bilingually.
