Background

 

Prior to joining the Hong Kong Bar in 2005, Jim worked as a solicitor in both Australia and Hong Kong where he specialized in building and construction litigation and arbitration. During that time, Jim represented clients from Government, the Private Sector, Contractors and Sub-Contractors in a variety of building and construction related disputes.



As a barrister, Jim is regularly instructed by many of the leading solicitors in Hong Kong to conduct appeals and jury trials in the High Court. Jim is an experienced advocate who is known for his effective cross examination style. He has appeared in numerous trials ranging from murder and other violent crimes through to money laundering and other white-collar offences.



In addition to his extensive criminal practice, Jim also appears in the civil courts dealing with matters relating to company law, shareholder disputes, civil fraud and the preservation and recovery of assets involving international cybercrime.
